Aku dan Anak2 Zaman Sekarang

Dunia dah berubah.
Kanak-kanak zaman sekarang terlalu mudah hidupnya.
Ibubapa pun sama.
Sibuk mintak surat sokongan supaya anak tak perlu berlari dan bersukan.
Semput, allergik dan ada sakit jantung kononnya.
Padahal sayangkan anak kena jemur tengah padang.
Waktu rehat makanannya sosej, keropok dan nasi lemak.
Langsung tiada sayuran dan buah2an.
Waktu balik, emak dah tunggu depan pintu gate.
Tinggal buka dan tutup pintu kereta sahaja.
Tak perlu berjalan ataupun mengayuh basikal.
Sebelum masuk kereta,
singgah dulu beli jajan2 dan aiskrim.
Juga Iceblended bermacam perasa.
Kat rumah, menghadap tv, game, PS2 dan komputer.
Nak main bola, tiada kawasan untuk bermain.
Nak ke padang, takut dicolek penjenayah.
Nak naik basikal, takut dirempuh mat rempit.
Kesudahannya duduk dalam rumah melayan internet.
Ibubapa juga sibuk sentiasa.
Makanan anak2 tak terjaga.
Semuanya yang segera dan bergula.
Hujung minggu pun sama.
KFC, McD, Pizza Hut dan warung tomyam.
Kalori langsung tak dibakar.
Semuanya ditukar menjadi lemak badan.
Macamana nak kurus?
Dunia dah berubah.
Siapa yang patut dipersalahkan bila kegemukan menjadi permasalahan?
Jangan salahkan nasi lemak dan keropok.
Jangan salahkan orang berniaga di tepi sekolah.
Jangan salahkan warung2 mamak dan kedai2 segera.
Salahkan diri sendiri.
Aku patut berubah.
Aku patut menjadi contoh kepada anak2.
Bangun awal pagi dan bersenam.
Berlari ataupun mengayuh basikal.
Makan lebih sayur dan buah2an.
Jauhi pizza dan warung tomyam.
Boleh ke?

Teens’ habit of eating junk stuff a cause for concern

GEORGE TOWN: Although he is only 16, Muhd Nur Ramlan weighs a staggering 94kg. He eats keropok lekor, nasi lemak, chicken nuggets and french fries almost daily. Muhd Nur was spotted buying chicken nuggets and a packet of drink from one of several stalls outside his school in Jalan Thean Teik in Air Itam yesterday.

“I buy the food from the school canteen but since I get hungry easily, I would buy more from the stalls,” he said.

“One sells delicious keropok lekor, which are usually sizzling hot,” he said.

The body mass index (BMI) of Muhd Nur is 32.5, which puts him in the obese category. Another student M. Durga Devi, 14, who weighs 72kg, loves keropok lekor and nasi lemak.

“I eat nasi lemak once every three days,” she said.

Her friend Uma Darshini, 17, who weighs 75kg, said she loved Western dishes and fast food. Durga’s BMI is 27.8 while Uma’s is 27.5. Both of them are considered obese. The parents of Year Four pupil S. Gautham are worried about their son’s weight, which is 55kg.

“He is 5kg heavier than me. And, he can’t stop eating,” said his mother, 39, who declined to be named.

Gautham said his favourite food were burgers, sausages, nuggets, fried chicken, nasi lemak, doughnuts, curry mee and laksa.

“I also love carbonated drinks,” he added.

Gautham acknowledged that he was overweight but said he could not control his appetite.

“I’m shy to expose my body even in the swimming pool because of my flabby stomach,” he said.
“My parents do not allow me to consume these food but I still buy them in school.”
A check showed that many stalls were selling unhealthy food outside schools.

  2. Saya juga tak suka dgn nurse kat klinik kesihatan.
    Mereka terlalu obses dengan angka.
Mereka suka merawat angka banding pesakit.
Budak2 yg kurang berat badan, habis dibebel emak bapaknya.
Yang terlebih pulak, bukannya nak di refer ke Dietitian.
    Dibebelnya juga. Cuma kurang sedikit...
