Aku dan wabak HFMD

HFMD.
Penyakit Tangan, Kaki dan Mulut.
Tapi ada yang sebut Penyakit Kuku dan Mulut.
Itu penyakit lembu cik abang oii!

HFMD.
Penyakit bermusim.
Sangat mudah berjangkit tetapi jarang membawa maut.
Kecuali wabak di Sarawak pada 1997.
Any child with HFMD symptoms should be rushed to the hospital immediately,”
Ini kenyataan orang politik.
Kenyataan orang tak belajar perubatan.
Satu kenyataan berbahaya.
Penuh sesaklah klinik kerajaan selepas ini.
Tapi perlukah segera ke hospital?

HFMD.

HFMD.
Tiada rawatan.
Tak perlu antibiotik.
Tak jumpa doktor pun boleh.
2-3 hari baik sendiri.
Kecuali kalau demam tinggi dan berterusan,
tidak lalu makan dan minum
dan jadi kurang aktif,
barulah ke hospital.

HFMD.
Ramai terkejut bila aku beritahu diagnosis.
Ramai juga terkejut bila aku cakap tiada ubat.
Hanya perlu jaga kebersihan diri.
Dan yang wajib; kuarantin.
Simpan anak kat rumah sahaja.
Tapi ramai juga yang tak percaya.
Sibuk minta dirujuk ke pakar kanak2.

Johor on HFMD red alert

MUAR: The state has pressed the alert button on the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) after more than 650 cases were recorded up to April 7.

Stare Women, Family, Health and Community Development Committee chairman Dr Robia Kosai described this as alarming as only 96 cases were recorded in the same period last year. She said Johor Baru, with 193 cases, has the most number followed by Batu Pahat (123), Ledang (100), Kluang (67), Kota Tinggi (55), Muar (48), Kulaijaya (37), Pontian (19), Segamat (eight) and Mersing with one case.

“We are very concerned as it represents a 578.1% increase compared to the corresponding period last year and we urge the people to observe good hygiene.
“Everyone, especially children, should wash their hands with soap regularly,” she said after attending a district-level meeting at the district office here yesterday.

Dr Robia said children, especially those in kindergartens and nurseries were more at risk as they had limited or very low immunity.”
Any child with HFMD symptoms should be rushed to the hospital immediately,” she added, saying these included fever, ulcers in the mouths, lips, tongue, and blisters on the hands, the soles of the feet and private parts.

She said about 14 kindergartens in the state had been ordered closed for between 10 and 14 days after some 18 clusters of cases were recorded.
“All the affected premises have been cleaned with disinfectant and patients treated.
“Although no deaths have been reported, we have to take precautions,” Dr Robia added.

    1. Kalau jumpa pakar,
      dapat antibiotik,
      dapat krim macam2,
      dapat sabun pencuci,
      charged ratus2.
      baru puashati.

      Doktor cabuk macam kita ni
      mereka pandang sebelah mata aje.
      Kadang2 terasa hati jugak...
